50 years of diplomatic relations Belgium-China

Date:
29 January 2021

Belgique - Chine 50 ans

On 25 October 1971, Belgium established diplomatic relations with the People's Republic of China, with as first Belgian Ambassador Jacques Groothaert.

2021 is therefore a special year in which we will review the course and experiences we have shared over the past 50 years and also expectantly look forward to new opportunities for future cooperation between our countries.

For 50 years our ties have been characterized by regular contacts at the highest political level, by the warm friendship between our respective inhabitants, by increasing investments, growing trade and close cooperation on a multilateral level.

Our Belgian Embassy and all Consulates General in China are open to taking up and supporting third party initiatives in the context of this 50th anniversary. To this end, you can formulate your own proposals for an event and submit them for approval by using the appropriate application form which you can find through this link. If your application is approved, you may use the logo as shown above in the communication tools appropriate for the event.

To be included in the list of events for the "50th Anniversary of the Diplomatic Relations between Belgium and China", you, as an external partner, must adhere to the guidelines listed via this link.
